I tried a new RCBS 82062 bullet mold that produces 125 grain RN-GC bullets. The mold was intended for a 9mm, but it works well in the.38 Spl & the .357 Magnum. As it has a narrow "edge" in front of the lead driving band, one can crimp on it as it has no crimpng grrove.

I decided to try Bullseye powder as it is economical and I know from experience that lighter bullet weights don't do all that well, with slow burning pistol powders. I used a charge of 7.0 grains and obtained:

8 "M-27 & a 6" Ruger Blackhawk----1,350 FPS MV

Marlin 1894 Carbine----1,600 FPS

with the carbine I also used 8.0 grains of Bullseye to obtain 1,760 FPS MV

the std deviations were good and the load was accurate in all three guns.

The gas checks used were Freechex made from aluminum.

One fine load that is accurate and economical. I had a literal blast pulverizing 1~1.5" stones with it using the Carbine...
