LBT group buy mold for 45/70 - 350gr.

Rec'd my 4 cavity 350gr LBT mold a couple weeks back and sat down to load some of the new boolits last night.

Tried to chamber the first of the test loads, and no go!

The throat in this RUGER #1-s is just to short.

The 405gr RCBS with it's smaller meplat does chamber, but with the wider meplat and less taper in the LBT boolit nose, it is a no go.

Thought this might happen, but hoped it wouldn't.

Have a call into my G-smith, so as soon as we can get together, I'll have him take a tiny bit of metal off the lands to allow for chambering.

More reports when I get to shoot'in the new boolits.

Made it to the Gun smith yesterday evening and had the throat opened up just enough to allow for chambering of the 350gr. LBT. :bigsmyl2:

Should start getting test results soon.

The first chamber cast, showed there to be about zero throat/leade. No wonder a Remington factory load wouldn't chamber.

Anyway, I can now chamber the loaded 350gr rounds, and already have a bunch of test loads ready to go.

I have also bought a supply of the LBT blue soft lube, so need to get some more :cbpour: casting done and the new lube installed.

I hope Veral of LBT is correct on how good he thinks his lube is.
