I am shooting RCBS 45 405 boolits BHN 14. I am getting some leading and seems like the lube is not making it all the way to the end of the barrel. 12 shots no lube star to speak of. Barrel slugs 457 sizing 459 and using Felix lube. MV is 1750, any sugestions?

Is it the 405 GC ? I assume it is anyway. With WW at close to 1800 is where i sometimes run in to leading. When i shoot linotype i can go to 2100 or so.

Is it still accurate? try backing it down to 1600 and see what happens, that's where i shoot WW mostly.Sometimes going to a slower powder also helps when you are tying to soup it up.

All just guesses based on your info.

Yes it's the GC. I am in the process of slowing it down. Was thinking the alloy is a bit to soft for the velocity. In the group but area there is a few boolit specs that specify deep grooves to hold more lube. Anyone shoot this boolit think it don't hold enough lube?

yes i have and it holds plenty of lube in my opinion.Never used Felix, but NRA 50-50 worked fine.

I have excellent result with same boolit with 50/50 over 57 W748, low pressure and
soft start with slow powder. Great accy, trapdoor pressures, chronos about 1750.

AC wwt sized .459.
