When I was 6, I remember when my grandmother brought him to the house. He would rock back and forth and mix a drink while his face turned red, and smoke came out of his ears. Still does...

I haven't seen one of those in years!

My grandmother had one, along with a small collection of other toys including a "Teddy" bank that had a bear pop out of a tree when you "shot" coins from Teddys rifle into the tree the bear was in.

Life was much simpler, and more fun, back then!

You would be shocked at the price of some of the antique toys! That are American made. Guns are cheap up beside some of them.

"Charley Weaver's" real name was Cliff Arquette. As Charlie, he used to read letters allegedly from his mother (living at the old homestead in Mt. Idy, Ohio) on Jack Paar's Tonight Show. The doings of the mythical citizens of Mt. Idy, and Charlie's father, were a series of jokes and humorous stories run together; it was pretty funny.

I didn't know they made any spin-off toys based on his character. Thanks for sharing.
