Does anyone make a general purpose front sight pusher? i have an old Mosin rifle, Finnish B marked barrel The front sight has been pushed far to the left and I need to move it right. I don't want to use mallet and brass punch method. suggestions

Williams has long made such a sight pusher - they sell it directly, as does MidwayUSA & Brownell's who both also sell a few clones from other makers.

They ALL, however, are designed only for ramp-mounted sights, and will not work on barrel-mounted sights.

It is worthwhile to have look at the front sight pusher tool for the AK. I found that with a little filing it would fit over the ears on my 1917's and it worked fine. Cost is/was around $8 or $9.......not anywhere near the outrageous prices that are being charged for other (commercial) tools. Check it out. LLS

Stan Ward invented and makes a Mosin front sight pusher, it's called the LT2.

He sells them for $20 plus $3 for shipping.

Contact him at: stanward@charter.net

If you have access to a welder, I welded two small scraps to a 4 inch c clamp and it works fairly good. No direct cost but some time.

I have one of Stan Ward's LT2 Sight Adjustment tools for the Mosin. Worth every penny I paid for it.

You go Four fingers!! In eastern North Carolina we say: if it can't be fixed with more haywire or a bigger hammer; it can't be fixed!!

I have used a tire iron and a spent cartridge case, it worked well

I've used Stan's 98k pusher tool (works on a 33/40 as well)...top notch. Simple idiot proof design, solid and well made.

I use an AK pusher on my 1917, and a modified shaft collar on my K-31. An engagement with a Dremel, was all either needed.

I use this for a number of firearm applications. It's just a great all-around tool that you can use for any firearm you own, including long rifles.

I should add that this tool is not designed for rifles. Jury-rig it is!

FIND a section of heavy wall pipe which will fit around the sight assembly. as it fits inside the pipe id from above, not inline with the bbl. cut off about 1/2" or so. now either or both drill and tap the side of the pipe/weld a nut to the side of the pipe( a fine thread 1/4 or larger). take a bolt of the same thread and dress the end like a punch. slip over the sight assembly, turn the bolt......

I bought somewire tied straw bales for the garden last year. I believe they came out of Kansas. Now I have enough baling wire to last me a few more years. Most of the hay around here is done up in big round bales with netting. The dairymen buy hay from out west done up in big square bales(8'x8'x4') so they haul well on a semi. They use wire on those bales too.

Took my Mosin out to try it out for the first time today, a Finn B barrel. Got 3 inch groups at 100 yds with Czech surplus. Front sight is far to the left, groups are to left of bull. I can get center hits if I hold at 3 o'clock on the 8" black bull. I take it sight needs to move to the left, still no sight pusher to be found. My contact with the fellow mentioned here goes unanswered. The rifle is alot nicer to shoot than my model 44 carbine. Gentle push rather than a kick.
