Just received a 1891 argy carbine. Slugged the barrel twice and got .313". My lyman 314299 makes .314" but would like a slightly fatter bullet for this carbine. All matching numbers and a very good bore. Been wanting one of these for years but seems when I have the $$$ non are around and when I don't have the $$$ they are all over the place. Anyone have any suggestions?. Thanks, Frank

all 3 of mine like the 314 just fine.
it only pours at 313 but the rifle is just fine with that.
1900 fps is the happy spot.

I heard about a 316299 which is to be a slightly fatter design. Can anyone give me some info as to where I could get one. Would be good for the argy and a two groove enfield #4mkI*. Thanks, Frank

You could Beagle your mould and get another .001. Are you measuing right away? If you wait a week to measure, you probably have your .001.

Have had these boolits sitting in a cabinet for some time. Measured them before slugging .314. Gonna try them as I get good engraving on the bore riding section. Thanks all. Frank

Chances are your boolit will work just fine. I have the most sucess with Unique in my 1891s.
You may want to check the boolit fit to the throat in your gun as this seems to be more important than an extra .001" boolit diameter.

Since I have been fitting to the throat my sucess has gone up and the group sizes down with leading a thing of the past.
