A friend has just acquired a bring-back Drilling by bequest from an Veteran uncle recently passed. He is enthusiastic about shooting the Rifled barrel. Where are the cheapest places to find cases, a mould, and dies? 9.3 X 74

BVT,

Your friend is a lucky man, the 9.3 x 74 is wonderful caliber, combined with two shotgun barrels what a great combination for just about anything. I think I ordered my dies from Graff's. Cost was about $35.00. I bought Norma brass at $1.50 each from Nosler as that was all I could find at that time, there may be other brands available now. I'm not sure about a mould as I don't believe they're common. There was a group buy for 9.3 moulds started a few months ago, perhaps your friend could buy a few bullets from one of the guys that got in on that to get started.

Hornaday is making the brass and selling loaded ammo. I'm jealous - green with envy!

I use RWS for my Ruger No.1 9.3x74R. These cases have been of the highest quality. 200 RWS cases will last a long time. I got RCBS dies from Midway. I load paper patched 0.358 Saeco cast bullets. They shoot as well as any jacked bullet I have tried and knock the squeal out of wild hogs.

Thanks Gents.

This fellow has already shot the 16 Gauge barrels and apparently they are a full and something a little more than a modified and dead on for clays. Ill pass the info on to him.

Did he make sure of the chamber length of the 16 ga barrels? Lots were made for the 2 1/2" shells.

Yah. Mine is a 16x16 over 9.3x72R ... and the chambers were actually LESS than 2-1/2" with a choke of super-extra-extra Full (couldn't pull a 28g plug through it)

A shotgun-reloading buddy took care of the shotshell part. I believe they were short. BvT
