just bought a lyman mold marked 311291EV, then marked WO below ther marks. what does EV and WO mean. wayne h

Seriously, they are marked to indicate the cherry used to cut them, and to assure the two halves stay mated.

Your'se is the standard answer given for additional markings that show up under/next to the 5/6 digit Lyman mold blocks numbers/letters. Since Wayne's EV/WO markings show up on only one side only of the mold blocks they are mold identification numbers/letters, I assume that's what he's got, then they are not matchup marks.

I have a Lyman single cavity 311291U that has only the 3 digit match up numbers in my case 869 on both sides. Any additional markings like EV and WO should be referred to Lyman for specifics. Some here might know but they need to come forward.
