Does anyone use these or have they become a collectors item? I've never seen one and I can't find any information on them. I have some old SHOOTER'S BIBLES, like 1942 & 1951 and I can't find any ads for them? I think the mold type is called a Foster?

That looks like the complete set of tools to make the typical Lyman Foster slug and add swaged "rifling".

The moulds are still available in 12 and 20 ga. but I do not think the rifling swage is.

If 12 ga. the mould will likely drop a slug of around 0.705" (mine does) which is way undersize for the bore. I suspect this was to allow the swaging to bring diameter up to bore size.

I have never had good accuracy using the as cast slug but have never had the opportunity to try it with the swaged rifling.

SluggerDoug made his own "knurling" system that put helical grooves into the Lyman slug and brought it up to bore diameter. He reported good accuracy in doing that.

Are you looking to sell the set?

Yes, I'm just not sure what to ask, I would think its worth at least a $100.00 or so I just don't have a feel for its worth?

I wish I could find one of these in 20 gauge. Last one I saw went for a little over $100 dollars on auction, but I have seen some go for more, some for less.

I would guess at least $100.00 (or at least in line with internet auction prices if there are any others being offered).

The mould alone is worth between $60.00 and $70.00, handles run about $30.00, I think, and I have no idea what the rifling swager would run. So at least $100.00. Might be best to do some more research before selling as there may be collector value and/or user interest that would raise the price some.

I have seen old manual info and adds for the rifling swager but never the actual tool so it may well have collector value.

Sounds like a good idea.
