I want to try to push a plain base 310 grainer about 1800 fps, I have an allowable pressure of 65,000 psi, I am trying to use w296 and water quenched or heat treated wheel weights, I am trying to stay away from gas checks to save cash, any ideas?

How about little more information?

Is this a rifle or pistol? Barrel length? Caliber?

Not many guns are gonna take 65K on a daily basis and live very long!

everyone ignored my last post, so I tried a different tactic, its a 8-38" barrel 460xvr s&w it can take 65k, not that i want to go that hot that often, its mostly for plinking, my serious hunter is my .44 mag. this is just the crowd pleaser right now, but down the line could become more.

38gr is what the winchester site says for a 300gr XTP mag and W296 powder in a 460 S&W it's the starting load.

300 GR. HDY XTP MAG. Winchester 296 .452" 2.160" 38.0 1825 43,200 PSI

use 300 or 325gr jacketed bullet data with your powder and cartridge, you'll be fine
