A question for you. A friend brought over an SKS that was brought home by his father from Vietnam. I found the gas cylinder is rusted away and see there are a few models listed on Gun Parts.
I can't identify the model. The gun is all machined, has dark wood and is set up for a blade bayonet.
There are no marks on the cover, only the serial number 191207. It has the cleaning kit in the butt.
Anyone know?
Is there a cheaper place to buy parts?

Numrich Arms/e-gunparts.com. Try them.

Numrich Arms/e-gunparts.com. Try them.
That is where I usually buy parts but they want $48 for the same part that Marstar wants $16.
Parts must go like hotcakes.

What parts do you specifically need? Century carries sks parts, so does Tennessee Gun Parts, Sarco, and some others I'm sure I cant remember. Check over at the AKfiles.com and on Surplusrifeforum.com. Members may have what you are looking for if you cant find it from a vendor.

Most outfits in the US want about $70 for a gas cylinder & handguard that look pretty bad. Sarco advertised in Shotgun news about 2 months ago, that they had new ones for about $30. I bought one and what came appears new in grease.

You can download Sarco's past advertisements on their website.

44man,

I found a wealth of info here after I found a Yugo SKS.

It should help you with the one you are dealing with. (Go to page 24 for ID help)
