a yr or so back i bought a lovely 1895 91/30 finn rebuild.......antique......
think it only had a proof round fired......

i know not everyone is happy with empire's prices, but i have never been dissapointed with a gun from empire.

I have been collecting Finnish mosins for some years now. The last ones being imported?? I have heard that about 6 times now. Last year when I was in Finland there were still barreled receivers there as well as extra stocks. I guess time will tell.

I am surprised at how many have made it here. Considering the size of the country and it's army....it is hard to believe they had that many rifles on hand! I bought my first Finn...a model 28, from century for the whopping price of $39.95. It must have served as a drill rifle..pretty worn. Some nut gave me $225 for it a few years back. Then I acquired a model 91 Finn..that I bet had been in A-1 shape before some moron here shot corro ammo in it and ruined it. Then, I bought two 39's...the cream of the crop in my estimation. The Finn's turned the junk loose first....what they considered junk anyway...the 27's, 28's, and 28-30's. Most of these I have handled were well worn. When the 39's began to appear...again, the worse arrived first and none of them were bad. Then some arsenal new stuff showed up and of course, thanks to Tuco and Co. and the internet......the prices soared for these 'rare' guns. I firmly believe had Tuco never had a website, these military rifles would have remained sleepers and cheap. For the first couple years, Century sold them for $39-$59.....Russian junk was selling for $79-$99!
