Trying to help a member here and can't figure out how to post a pic in a PM, so I'll do it here.

Hope this helps! BTW- It's about 6" tall. And here's an Ebay item that's similar

Watch out for that handle if you are lifting hot lead with it. I had a very similar looking stainless water cup; the handle snapped loose at the spot welds.

Never move it unless it's cold. That weighs well over 30 lbs just as it sits!

Bret is that pot a convien't size for melting about 10 lbs or so ingots for ladle casting?
Why do you like the SS better than the cast iron?

It will certainly do 10 lbs but that would only be about 1/4 full. I use both a Rowell 1lbs lade and an ancient Lyman. I bought the pot because I wanted a heavier duty ladle pot that held a lot of lead. My little Lyman 10lb cast pot was too small and my makeshift pots didn't last long. This jumped out at me from the shelves of a now closed hardware, the old fashioned kind of hardware. It wasn't until I started using it that I noticed my dross accumulation dropped by half at least. Ferrous alloys rust and they tend to "flake" a bit too. I think all that adds to our dross. This particular pot is rather heavy empty and is of good quality, not at all like a lite wt sauce pan.

To the rescue again, thanks a lot.

Oh, I have a in new condition, Lyman Ladle that I bought at a church yard sale. I was told on this forum that it hasn't changed a bit in a Hell of a long time!
So what you have is a new (style) Lyman Ladle, LOL. I guess if it works, why change it!
