There are many from Ideal/Lyman's past and currently they offer a couple sizes as well.

Molds: Weights:
266324 119gr
266386 105gr
266455 127gr
266469 140gr (my favorite)
266673 150gr

There are other options from SAECO, CBE and other mold manufactors as well.

LEE makes a 170gr .266 boolit that they call the Cruise Missile. It can be found at www.Midsouthshooterssupply.com under their custom molds listing.

7mm Mauser brass can be converted quite easily from the following cartridges that share the same .473 head size. Reform with your sizing die and then trim to the proper length for 7mm Mauser.

8mm Mauser
270 Win
30-06
280 Rem

You might have to to trim the neck diameter of the newly reformed brass if you have a tight chamber.

Nope Sorry. I bought a LEE Set for 19.99 ten years ago and I think the prices are still the same for their RGB sets.

If that's an old Spanish mauser, they usually run large in the barrel. Make sure you slug it, which you should be doing anyway.

boy... neat question..which is do we like..7MM or 270...

Response here is 'what for'? who is shootin? What are you shootin at?

Answer these and you will have your answer. MY answer..in all catagories...

is "BOFF of EM"... You can reload both with a variety of boolits to satisfy all needs except bears and elephants. All that is left is paper. The 7x57 Mauser is soooo Sweet. Love them!

If you can "GOOGLE" Jack O'Connor and read...read..read about his (and Mine) beloved .270.

He took the "BIG 5" with a 270 just to show it could be done. I COULD NOT DO IT. He did.

I wish I had bought 50 of the old 7x57's and 6x55's when they were $10 apice throught the mail...soo too bad..days gone by.. now..buy them..pay your money...take your chances

Both round are astounding when handled right,,loaded right..in the right hands...

Have fun with both.

............It doesn't seem that 7x57 brass is hard to come by. Why reform?

.............I don't believe Starline makes those, but they ARE readily made by Remington, Winchester, Lapua, Privi-Partisan, RWS, and Norma. I checked several venders and they're available.
