If that boolit is the GB one, you will likely find that it is only good as a plinker at about 1,050 to 1,100 fps with a shotgun powder.

txpete, H/IMR 4198 and AA 5744, especially the latter are ideal powders for the K-31 with CB's. For CB's <150gr., start with 18-19gr. of either. For CB's >150gr., 22gr. has worked very well for me. Btw, 5744 really does produce low extreme spreads and standard deviations with reduced loads.

..............For cast slugs to 175grs you can use:

10-12 Unique
16/20 2400
18/22 SR4759
18/22 4227
21/24 4198
24/30 3031

Just kinda generic for a case and bore that size.

I recently sold my K31 as I just had too many guns and I really never fell in love with this one. However, I was using 22 grains of IMR 4198 with a .310 190 grain boolit w/gas check and getting pretty good groups at 100 yards. Never tried it at any other distance. 22 grains of Reloader 7 also worked just as well.
