I was given two pieces of equipment that seem perfectly useable, but lack the stand. They are the powder measure and shot thrower from a Lachmiller "Bell Super Jet".

Each tube and the controls for it are in perfect shape, but I do not have the stands to put them on my bench - can anybody recommend where to find the remainder of the set or how to mount them alone?

Does anyone still use this brand?

Here's a photo of one on Ebay (way over priced and not mine). I do not have the mounting stand pictured just the powder thrower and a very similar shot thrower.

Thanks for any help!

Wow that measure on flebay $75 even comes with a really sturdy powder hopper made from a piece of PVC drain pipe.

What gets me is the $35 shipping fee, do they hand deliver it?

Making money from both ends from people who don't know any better.

That's gonna take a special fabrication. You know a welder? Give him your measures and a photo of the one on eBay, it would be easy to make something that would work just as well as the original stand. Just tell him to make it so the measures will be vertical in use.

That eBay price is silly but he just may get it, including the wildly over-priced shipping, even from Canada. It's funny to watch some people paying more for old, well used stuff than it would cost for brand new tools with a warrantee.

I have a Lachmiller lubesizer I've used for 40 years. It still works as good today as in 1971.

From the fleabay pictures you could just mount the measure to the edge of a shelf. Not wanting to do that I an see a small stand made from scraps of wood so the measure can be mounted.

To make a stand like the original would be too costly unless you can fab it yourself.

I have one without the stand. The previous owner took a piece of steel, bent it into a three sided square, bolted the measure to the top and brazed a nut on the bottom through which he threaded a bolt with a "T" handle brazed on. Instant bench clamp and it works very well.

Try RCBS -- I believe they bought out Lachmiller -- not sure if they took over all products though ---

The Lachmiller powder measure was dropped in 1961, just before RCBS took them over.

The Wells primer pocket swager is nearly identical to Herter's, though it looks nicer. It works the same. The button fits into a 30-06 shellholder, the case is run into the die where the center rod pushes the case down on the button swaging out the military crimp.
