I havent seen it yet but my dad just bought one out in Montana, he is on vaction with my mom. I just talked with mom on the phone, dad was off with friends looking for property to buy, she said "Its old kinda looks like your 1903 but not really, has the wood going all the way to the front." I had to laugh at her, BUT it looks like we will have another 30-06 to shoot cast in.

I will have more details in a week when they return.

I'd say your Mom described it pretty darn good, bless her.

Pretty much the whole state Gianni. We have friends in Helena, Lewistown, and Grass Range. I know this isnt close to the whole state but I imagine they are going other places then the Cities and towns I listed.

I have two Remington M17s and they both shoot like a house on fire! Well done. Mick.

I like mine :-) I really haven't done much with it at all since putting it together. I'd gotten it finished just before the 2005 Nevada Cast Lead Boolit Shoot in Winnemucca. My attempt for "Small group, benched" at 50 yards was this:

Basicly the first rounds ever fired out of it. It was 23.0grs H4198 + dacron, the Lyman 311284 sized .309". The group measured 1.050" and I lost it by a couple thousandths, but ain't that the way. I don't recall now who the heathen was that beat me!

Those 4 rounds were sure nice! I recollect a bit over .500" or so.

he last couple e-mails from Empire Arms had some dark pitted bore P-17's listed at $600+, !!!!!!!

There is a little hole in the wall gun shop in the city I go to college in, they had a 1917 Remington in there for $150 but someone milled the rear sight off and mounted a scope on it. If I remember correctly the wood was all on there and the front sight was gone it had a cheap 3-9 scope on it, now that I remember that I wish I would of bought that instead of that ol Savage 340. Oh well.

My 1917 is a WINGCHESTER. The barreled action was given to me and some one else gave me the stock. I have had more fun with this gun.... I shot sillywets with cast this summer. I have shot DCM matches with it. I was the only one on the line with a bolt gun and sure the only one shooting cast. 311291 ahead of 22.5 grains of 2400. We shot 200 yards with scaled targets. What a blast. I finished right in the middle of the pack.
