Just got a Contender. It came with a Super 14 .35 Rem barrel. Just loaded up some Ranch Dog .358 190gr. GCs with 15gr. 2400. I paid 310 for the Contender. Hope this works out.

Contender barrels are like rabbits, they tend to multiply and there's no end to it cause they make to bloomin many different ones. Don't try to fight it, just enjoy the addiction.

Shot my loads with the .35 Super 14...It was a start load and didn't do all that hot. I will up the powder and see what we got! I may try some 158gr. and some Unique.....

JSH has one that has been converted to .35 Rem rimmed. As I recall, he makes the cases from .303 Brit. He does some excellent silhouette shooting with it. He can probably help you with some load info.

The 35 Rem R barrel has shot well for me fro the get go. Got it with a bunch of FLGC ammo. The must have some tough targets in Oregon, as the loads were just palin brutal. I have since switched to CB's of course. The 35 Rem has some issues with the shoulder, but once fire formed properly and sized properly after that, it should not be an issue. My "R" barrel has never once given me a miss fire. I can use 303 brit or 30-40 Krag brass to make these.
I went with a load from lyman as theoir accuracy load, 12.0 of unique. It is no elephant load but it is hard to argue with the results I have had using the lyman 204 and a 180FN GC 6-C.
The 6-C mold was the first GB I was ever in and it has been a pretty good one in the 357 mag and the 35 Rem. I have tried the 158's and just use them to fire form brass now. They shoot OK but not much better than that. I have loaded up some 180 PB to see how the fly. A 170 is the lightest I have used. When using a WC type bullet you may have to seat pretty deep or at least I did in my barrel, the front driving band is almost flush with the mouth of the case.
The 35 Rem along with several other chamberings give good results with the rifle data, or at least I have found them too. The 35 remington and the 30-30 have recieved a pile of bad press over the years when chambered in the TC pistols. I am here to tell you it is all BS.

I have a 6.5Grendel Encore coming. I have a feeling I will get bit by the barrel bug too. I have wanted an Encore/Contender/G2 forever and finally have one coming! I can't wait!!!
