I saw where Lyman has a 55 gr. bullet mold for the .224 dia. bullets.

Does anyone else know of any molds out there beyond 55 gr., and are they ok in an AR?

They suggested pistol powder, so that may be the issue with weights beyond 55 gr. .

I have tried it once and I know others have also. Bullet 225462 Lyman from scrap with gas check sized 225 in a lee sizer with tumble lube over 7 gr of Herco. All shots on the paper at 25 yd bore left shiny, what I would call a successful plinking load. No tendency whatsoever toward semiauto functioning in my AR. I will be working with this some more. Have fun!!
