I have 3 powder dispensers, none of them meter trailboss worth a dang. A lee, rcbs, and a herter's and not one of them will work. Does anybody's? The only thing so far i have found is the lee dipper.

I think a Belding & Mull will throw most anything consistently including fg blackpowder.

My Redding rifle measure works fine with it. The pistol measure doesn't though.

my herter's would meter within 5 gr and the other two would go from 2-19gr! and i was shooting for 14. i cant buy another just to use with trail boss, but i was just kind of curious to see if there was even one out there that would.

I use the Lee dippers and I construct and calibrate dippers of my own for specific loads.

82nd airborne, The only powder measure I have that will reliably drop charges of very coarse grained powder, e.g., milsurp IMR 5010, is an old Ohaus (pre-RCBS) Du-O-Measure. It is a great measure if you can find one cheaply (usually with a cracked or missing hopper).

Belding & Mull....will even throw stones consistently.

RCBS Charge Master 1500......Works on all the powders I would never use before- Lincoln Logs & bulky powders.

I have no problem with the Dillon 550 powder set up.

and I use the Dillon 650 measure (which I think is the same as the 550). I have to use the regular rifle drop bar since the pistol bar opened up all the way does not drop enough for a 30-30 (only 8.5 gr).

I noticed the same thing with my RCBS........it would drop the correct charge, then a light charge, then a heavy charge with the difference being between the last two! Not good. I finally went to a Lee dipper also, weighed and then topped it off with a trickler if I needed something special.

Trail Boss is a good powder and pretty flexible, but those dang little cheerios are light and fluffy to say the least.

I haven't had issues with the lee perfect nor the RCBS powder measure on a progressive. I've never seen a charge off by more than .5gr with Trail Boss.

The Lee I do tap the cylinder when using Trail boss to get good fill of the measure body.

I weigh every charge in my big bore rifle's using a dipper. In my revolver cartridges my B&M works best.

I don't use my Redding powder measure for Trail Boss- The Lyman 1200 digital powder system does very well with it though. Accurate and smooth, consistent to .1 grain.

On the other hand, the Lyman doesn't like W231 and similar fine ball powders, they jam the trickler's support bearings and make for stalls and sudden jumps. It likes Trail Boss "cheeriOs", big flakes and sticks- Just what my rotating chamber type measures don't.

I've been using my old RCBS uniflow without any problems for a long time now.

i finally got the old herter's to work. i figured out i just have to smack it on top of the hopper lightly a few times after charging it. i still weigh every charge with TB since one of every ten or so doesnt quite come out to my standard. the lee powder measure is hopless with trail boss. i think using the lee dips are the easiest as of now

My Redding works fine with trail boss. But if the powder sits in it over night or for a long amount of time it stacks on itself /that what i call it and wont meter worth a dam ,I then take it off the press give it a shake and then its fine sometimes i just stick a fork in it move it around and then it ok
