View Full Version : Any one shoot a 5mm craig ?

I was blessed with a rifle that remington orginally made 591 bolt action rimfire, boxed magazine version is 591, tube fed is model 592. only 27,000 were made.
It was converted to 5mm craig center fire. shoots a 204 bullet. I found a really good article on it at the link below.

I had a line on 2 5mm Rems and had intentions of procuring them and changing to the Craig. Deal fell through, but that's a neat round.

well I got this one , with dies and brass and some berger 204 tips
may try to swap for bolt 223 or close caliber

I have 2 Rem 5mm rifles, i aquired all the 5mm craig stuff, now you can buy factory 5mm ammo cheap from cheaper than dirt and a few others, instead of paying $50.00 to $70.00 a box for the origonal Rem ammo, now you can but 5mm ammo for about $17.00 a box, seen some the other day for $13.95, George.

I had a 5mm Rem. barrel I was given and toyed with the 5mm Craig. The reality was it would have been a costly exercise to source the components from the US to NZ. Sold the barrel.

the brass is most expensive, and thats off set with 16 pounds of powder I was later given
