On newer pc's and with newer operating systems, modems are pretty easy to fix because when you get a new one and plug it in upon starting up the operating system will say "found new hardware setting up setup wizard to install" and it's a breeze to walk through it. I'd say total time to install the new one and get going again would be under 30 mins.

I hope I never ever have to use a modem again.
I have a true 45 megabit broadband.
I could easily host several websites but, don't even have a single 1 going .

wow,is dail-up still alive and...well ?
I have a modem you can have if need be.Might have the disc,IF it had one, maybe your friend would know if this will do the job for you?
Should fit 6.00 flat rate box, that is what it will cost ya if you want it.

Me too, lost the hard drive and bought a SATA on overstock from Tiger. Found the plug is different so I ordered a card. Did not work and as I was fooling around I found my mother board has two SATA plugs. I built the computer with Tiger parts but have to have my daughter get some things working.
I plugged into the plug and everything works but it took a few days to feed in and download everything again. Now the thing is so fast I can't believe it.
I downloaded the free Advanced System Care and it cleans up more junk then you can imagine. It even defrags the register. Just installing everything I had 5227 fragged segments on the hard drive.
