MJ,
I'm sure there are members' representatives who will be reseptive to this petition.

My senators are Boxer and Feinstein, and my representative is proud of the fact that he is a certified socialist. All the pro-gun letters I've sent them have gone unanswered. Thank you, but I'll pass on this one.

You could at least sign the petition and forward it to 5 friends.

Never hurts to stay ahead of the game but that particular legislation has been locked up in committee since April 2009. This being a election year I suspect that is where it will die.

Couldn't that be what the gun control people are looking for; i.e., a time when the voters have their attention directed elsewhere? This may be their last chance before the "reorganization" of Congress.

The very opposite is true. Politicians are scared to death of gun control measures during a election year. That's why it was submitted last year during a off election year. As soon as the word is out they voted for a gun control measure the voters are up in arms so to speak and they know it. Besides all the Republicans in the Senate there are well over a dozen pro gun democrat senators so no, I suspect it will die in committee just like it did in the 107th, 108th, and now in the 111th congress. Still as I said it never hurts to be alert so right now it is just a matter to see if it ever gets out of committee within the next 6 months. If not then it cannot be carried over into the next congress.

Don't let your state become like Illinois. I e-mail my represenatives all the time and get no answers. That still does not stop me. If enough people mail their represenatives maybe they will listen or maybe, just maybe they will be out of a job soon. IMO

Hopefully they will all be out of work soon.

I saw it and didn't understand what "IT" was, what specific legislation are they after to defeat?

Sounded like an ill attempt to garner money to me.

There is a very good chance that Barbara Boxer's name will be added to those of the unemployed.

On line petitions are useless, you need original signatures.
A pen and paper and an envelope and a 44 cent stamp with a hand written letter carries much more weight.

I don't know about this one though... they are just trying to close the "gun show loop hole". Kalifornistan legislature is also working to do some serious damage this summer with their long gun registration. Here's what's happening in the "Golden State":

Thursday, June 3, the California Assembly passed Assembly Bill 1810 (http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/09-10/bill/asm/ab_1801-1850/ab_1810_bill_20100405_amended_asm_v98.html) and Assembly Bill 2223 (http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/09-10/bill/asm/ab_2201-2250/ab_2223_bill_20100218_introduced.html). Both bills now join Assembly Bill 1934 (http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/09-10/bill/asm/ab_1901-1950/ab_1934_bill_20100406_amended_asm_v98.html) in the Senate.

Seems to me they're working pretty hard to screw us over.

Someone is very confused. A TV ad cannot ban private firearm sales, any more than a TV ad cannot prevent body odor.

If they want my help, they can learn to write an ad.

I went to the NAGR web site to get some back ground. Not much info there.

I found short bios for two officers. Nothing about a board of directors (or lack thereof). Nothing about major contributors. Very vague reference to how their money is spent. No goals, business plan or links to financial statements.

They list two issues they're concerned with..."The gun show loophole" and "Ammunition accountability". Both of these have been around for several years and have been shot down at every attempt to pass them into law at state and national levels.

Seems to me to be nothing more than a blogger looking for donations. If anyone has more info, I'm willing to change my mind about this...until then, send me $10.00 and I'll send you an e-mail when I hear something interesting.

this fella's is absolout fact. you could have every man, women, and childs "online" signiture in the world sent to an elected official, and it would be completely meaningless. the only thing that carries any weight at all is an actual signiture on a petition, or better yet, flood the polaticians office with real people. if a congressman comes to work, and there are 200 people standing there waiting to talk to him, he will have no choice but take notice. now, whether he/she will give back or refuse the bribes and kickbacks he/she is offered to vote a certain way in leiu of their actual knowledge of how americans want them to vote, is an entirely different story.:Fire::Fire:
remember this november. VOTER RETALIATION! send them packing!
