Tinkering as usuall here but thought I would see what the 125 grain 9mm cast boolit (left) would look like swaged into a 40 cal hp boolit (right). The canalure gave me the extra .002 for a .401-.402ish diameter. May try some in my pistol for light loads for wife to shoot. I do plan to make a 140ish grain with the 125 core and thin brass jacket made from scrap riffle brass sized down and cut off. One of my many projects on hold.

Next pic is a collection of bullets. left to right. 90 grain .308 from scrap brass cut offs, 190 grain one step .400 from 9mm case, 255 grain one step .429 from 40 S&W case, and 310 grain .458 from 45 ACP case.

Brian, nice stuff.

I'm thinking that 125 grains is a bit light for .40 S&W.

I have a 165 grain Lee mold, which makes a flat nose bullet for .40 S&W. Has microgrooves, so it gets Xloxed afterward.

I find that I can run those in the swaging die, and get nice hollow point cast lead bullets, 165 grain. I have to be careful to not bump the nose too much when I make those, however, since it would tend to otherwise obliterate the microgrooves.
