I acquired this metal at a yard sale. The large blocks are (Magnolia Anti friction metal) On the back are the numbers R1643. There are other letters that I can't read. The small bar is marked Dutch Boy body solder #30. Any help telling me what I have will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Someone else will come up with a more specific answer than mine, but the ingots are some form of babbit and the stick is a lead/tin combination.

80 + 15 + 5 = 100 so the graphite is going to be a trace.

I am sure that graphite will really screw things up and we all know how dangerous lead can be. ShrnShndl, you better send that to me. I will dispose of it out in the west desert.:kidding:

The magnolia metal is just a tad harder than linotype. Like lino it can be mixed in various proportions with pure to come up with some good alloys. As is it'll make some good high velocity rifle bullets. 2000fps+.

Sounds like pore man's SuperHard! Or, really good Linotype!

Great find, I'll take 20 bars......
