It has come to be that time for me.
My Wife has had a bad setback and I will be spending all of my time taking care of her.
It is either this or a home and after 52 years , 2 kids , and being without me most of the time while I made those luxurous cruises complements of Uncle Sugar I have made the decision to put all of my toys aside and take care of her.

I wish everyone here on the forum the best and hope you all keep them in the 10 ring.

To the many friends I have made here ,thank you for letting me be part of it all.

Always the best
Jim(aka beekeeper)

Jim, when you have a spare minute drop back in and let us know how to pray for her. I will miss your active involvement but fully understand and would make the same decision in your shoes.

...............Jim, remember this, you DO have friends here and it might just do your heart good to use us as a touchstone if you feel the need. While the crew might appear a bit disfunctional on occassion, in times like this we're all in harness and pulling in the same direction.

What Buckshot said, if there is anything "I" can do please let me know. We all need some support and help from time to time. You are both in my prayers.......Married to a Church of Christ preachers daughter........not that that will get me anything extra.....I just know there is a God and I'm not him. Trust God,clean house and help others.

I've always believed (and tried to teach my sons) that it's how we handle the cards we're dealt that shows our true character. You're doing the stand-up thing, and I'd be honored to have you as a friend, Jim.

When my dad was taking care of my mom, at first he thought he had to give up all his activites, but he found that not every day was a bad day. Both of them taught us to appreciate the good days, and sometimes even just the good minutes, even more. I'll hope that you'll find some balance in this, too.

Our prayers are with you.

Beekeeper,

I'll pray for your wife and you too.

I cared for my wife, with help, in her final years and don't regret a minute of that time. I only wish I could have done more. I found it much easier to keep a log of medications, treatments, etc. It was so much easier than relying on memory.

Jim,
Know that you'll be missed here. AND thank you for your post. It helps others who are dealing with some hardships more than you'll know. God's blessings and strength to you.

Jim:
Tough to write on this subject. Suffice it to say my thoughts are with you because I've been there and done that.

I will also say stay in touch with us. Perhaps we can provide a small distraction or a good laugh for you from time to time.

Wish your wife the best!
