bought a bar of it at the grocery store last night.

Was going to put some in my homemade lube recipe, but couldnt get it to melt. Any secret to it.

second question. is WHY!!! What am I going to gain by adding it

Lube I was trying was equal parts Beeswax, paraffin and olive oil.

You need more heat. Grate the soap and get it melted first. You may even have to apply a propane torch to it directly. Beware, soap can foam up big time.

Why add it to your lube? Well, #1 is it sounds like you want too.:mrgreen: The website doesn't really list the ingredients other than it's a vegetable based soap. I'm assuming it has coconut or cocoa oil in it. Both would have some lubricating qualties to it. The soap itself will stiffen up the lube and act as a binder. There are some higher percentage, soap based lubed out there that do very well at HV.

I seem to remember using that soap on the farm because we had such hard water, it made a great lather.Robert
