Guys I do not know why, but I am thinking about buying a LH Ruger Hawkeye in 375 Ruger cartridge. Do you guys think I am nuts?? Anybody casting any bullets for this puppy?? I think the performance is extremely similar to the 375 H&H. So bullet selection should be the same?? What good bullets for fun shooting and hunting?? Tom.

In my 375 H&H I use Lymans 375449 for general use (1850 fps) and hunting (2200 fps). I also use the hunting load cast hard for "heavy load" practice. 375248 makes a decent plinking/small game PB'd bullet at 1200 fps and the 375 RB is always a fun plinker and small game bullet also. All should work as well in the 375 Ruger.

I love the mid range bores. Large enough to get a meplat on the front without ruining BC and still stay light enough that you can send it out to reach down range.

The problem has always been standard case designs in some bore diameters and why I am such a fan of the 35. But the 375 Ruger aught to be like anything else, if the chamber and throat are cut properly in a good barreled gun, you'll have options and Larry gave you some.

BRP's 378-275 GC is a possible choice.

The Lyman 375449 bullet shot well in my 375 H&H and I used for quite some time but just never really liked the design. BRP's 378-275 GC is the bullet I now use and definately prefer. The BRP bullet is a bit more accurate than the Lyman from my gun shooting groups at MOA if I do my part. I had a double cavity mold designed with one cavity hollow pointed.

We have developed a load for the 375 Ruger that we are selling from our shop. It uses our 375/375 boolit at about 2400 fps ( as I recall) and should be somewhere near 5000 fpe.
Customers seem well pleased with this load. One has reported that he will use nothing else.
This boolit is also working well in the H&H cartridge and my favorite 375 Whelen.

Hawkeye? Whats that? forgive my ignorance but I thought the hawkeye was a single shot pistol in .256 Win Mag.
