ok lets try this,,i posted threads on 250 and 300 grain gc for the 41 rem mag, with no replys, telling me that theres alot of guys shooting lighter loads,, i have a ruger super blkhawk bisley hunter with a 7 1/2 in barrel, spent a few hundered on making it a real shooter, function wise, not looks,,i think i spent in the neighborhood of 350 more for these tweaks. id like to hear some of your 41 rem mag favorite loads, please include bullet weight, powder type, col, type of primers used ect. and how it did. i figured if i was wasting my time with the heaviest,,then id sure to get hits with the lite to med range. i will and am looking to use on deer here in mi. and would only like to hear from guys using cast bullets, and xtp.

Wts:
I haven't hunted with my revolver in particular for quite a few years. That is to say, I do not go out and hunt deer with "just" one of my handguns. I have a S&W model 57 that I bought new in 1972. We are very close. I have taken two deer years ago with it. They were both at about 50 yards. The first was a doe standing broad side, the second was a spike buck running. I hit the doe just behind the shoulder. She took a few steps and fell over dead. The spike was hit high in the spine and went down. I got to him and finished the job. The load on both was not anything spectacular. It was my (back then) target load of 8 grains of Unique with the Lyman 410459 cast of ww's. This load Chrony'd at about 1000 fps. I seated to the crimp groove and used WLP primers. All, or most heavy cast bullets give good penetration. The slugs on both deer went all the way through.
I have loaded some 265 grain Laser-cast bullets for my 57 to sleep with when I went hunting in Alaska for moose. No, I did not get a moose. I realize that the .41 is not the ideal big bear cartridge, but it was the biggest I had at the time (2003). I loaded 20 grains of H110 and the WLP primer. I think I could have gotten the bruin to leakin had he entered the tent, and made a break for the river, knowing that "Discresion is the better part of valor".

Greetings
My most accurate 41 mag load still is a Lyman 410610 GC WW pushed by 21.3 grains 296 in my 41 Mag Dan Wesson 8 " heavy barrel. Absolute minimum barrel gap and the barrel nut tight. That load will print right at 2.25" at 100 yards with me in the Creedmore position. I do NOT recommend this load for any other 41 Mag revolver. My Rugers do not shoot this load as well as other loads with this boolit. With this load I won the 1984 Illinois State Steel AAA Revolver catagory with 79 out of 80. It is just as accurate today.

I have a standard Ruger Bisley with 7 1/2" barrel.

Hornady 210 gr XTP
23 gr H110
R-P Cases
CCI 350 primers
1450 fps
2" at 50 yards with iron and my tired old eyes.
2 -3" at 100 yards from bench with Burris FastFire

RCBS 41-210-SWC of WWs + 2% tin, sized .410, lubed with Javelina
R-P cases
WLP primers
9.5 gr Unique
1230 fps
2" at 50 yards with Burris FastFire

Lyman 410610, WW/pb at 50/50, Hornady GC, sized .410 with Javelina lube
R-P cases
CCI 350 primers
22.5 gr H110
1410 fps
3 -4" at 100 yards with Burris FastFire.

All groups are when I do my part and I'm practiced with it. Takes me a couple three shooting sessions of 25 - 30 shots per session to get practiced with it. If I shot it more often (don't I wish) I would stay practiced.

I missed the 250 --300 bullet stuff--but I have some loads for those
Mountain Mold 255 15.5 of AA#9 wwlp- Redhawk very accurate even with out the gc
18 gr of H110 works well with my SSk 295 TC mold wwlp in a Redhawk and a Balckhawk and M57
I have some 305 s and the same 18gr H110 did just fine Redhawk and 4/58 Blackhawk
22 gr of 296 and most any 200 through 240 has shot wonderful WWLP
22 gr of H110/296 and the 225gr Keith is 1420fps, with a 238 gr WLNGC 1360 fps in 5.5" RedHawk have killed deer with both
especially Lyman 410459 in M57, TCs, Redhawk Blackhawk, and DWA
Lyman 410459 hp'd by Buckshot--212 gr 17.5 AA#9 1420 very accurate and expands well
12 gr of 800x with the Keith bullet shot very well-- and 9 gr of the same powder 900 fps with the 410459 HP
Favorite powder is 296/H110 then AA#9 then 800x my "magic" load is 22gr of 296 --

I shoot alot of the Saeco 220gr. Truncated Cone with 17.8grs. of 'Lil Gun. My Ruger SBHH stainless has a 2X T/C scope on it. When I am practiced, as Larry said, it will do 2" or less at 100 yards.
I know Hodgdon had a warning about using 'Lil Gun in the 41 but I spoke with the Ballistics guy and he said after I gave him before and after expansion figures and velocity to go ahead and use it.

Use at your own risk.
