Just getting ready to load Cast for my 1949 336A

Which Die set is best ?
Do I need a special seater plug ?
Also do I need to Flair the case mouth for Cast bullets ?

Most major brand of dies for the 30/30 work well I use Lee with no issues and yes you need to flair the mouth a bit to seat the cast bullets. I use a Lee Universal Expander Die and it works great also the Lee Factory Crimp die works well to take out the flair. Some say the Lyman M dies are better but I really like my Expander die and it is good for every caliber I load for including 45/70.

Lee dies work for me, I have just about every brand, but buy Lee exclusively when I buy new dies. The only exception was my K31 (or whatever the model is) Swiss rifle. Apparently Redding are the only ones who are absolutely correct with the specifications in this instance. Otherwise, I but Lee Deluxe die sets when I can get them and I often buy a spare Lee RGB set and remove the neck sizing part of the die so that I end up with a body die as well.

I use RCBS two die set for the .30-30. I flare the case neck using the expander from an RCBS .30 Carbine die set, it works for just about everything from 30 to 45 caliber.

I forgot to mention, I loaded my 30/30 for sometime using a 310 Tong Tool. Perfectly satisfactory, but slowwwwwwwwwwww. :D
