What are your opinions on the best homebrew rifle lube. Looking for something to use to pan lube for a 30-30.
Thanks

To pan lube at those speeds most any of many will do. I've used Emmert's for years for both BP and lower speed applications and have had no problems. If you will later want to go for higher speeds I recommend Speed Green. It's easy to make, cheap, and works well.

Wayne is right either of those should do. If considering high velocity loads, I'd also consider making Felix lube. It is a bit more involved than speed green, but works very well.

FWIW - I would go with Emmerts and Felix loob also.

I believe there are two recipies referred to as Speed Green, one of them is post #2 here:

Bullshop has it. Bullplate and beeswax is all that is in it. 3 parts wax to 1 part lube by weight.

One more for Felix Lube, works well as a pan lube especially if you add a little carnauba wax.

Thanks guys, I've been reading on the Felix lube and sounds like others a very happy with it. Think I'll give it a go.
