I'm brand new here, but thought I would share some good news.

Mods, if this is in the wrong place, please forgive me and feel free to move it...

I have absolutely no connection to Widener's (www.wideners.com), but have been researching sources of virgin alloys, and their 92-6-2 seems to be less expensive than anywhere else. Problem is, it's been out of stock for months...

NOT ANY MORE!!!

$85 for approx 56 lbs of virgin 92-6-2 alloy... SHIPPED!!!

I know most of the folks on this forum like to scrounge and mix their own, but for a new, virgin alloy, this seems to be a good deal...

Great to be here!!

I'm a scrounger myself, but that is a good price for those that buy. Good post Matt and welcome aboard!

Good deals don't last very log do they? Probably some commercial caster found it cheaper than what he could get from the foundry and snatched it all.

This is related to Widener's and not alloy, but they do seem to be one of the few suppliers who has surplus GI 308 brass in stock at the moment. I just bought 1000 rounds a couple of weeks ago and I can tell you it is good stuff.

Welcome aboard 800! Sounds like a decent price for virgin alloy to me! I am a scrounger too, but could use some of that as an additive for those special boolits! Again welcome to the board!
