Melted a 150# dredge anchor and poured it into ingots, This is the last out the pot and about 1/2" thick and 6" long. Did this with my gloved hands after cooling for 10 hours. Would you call it soft. Going to do hardness test after dinner.

Sam, it always amazes me what casters can think up next ... The Muddy Creek Hardness Test! If you drop it on concrete and it rings ... gotta be a Wheaties Day!

I bet it is around 6.5 Darn near pure lead. Most all bateau anchors I have melted here in Louisiana was almost pure lead. Probably some plumbers or roofers missing some lead they needed for the job the next day. Ha!! Ha!! When it comes to fishing here ;all is fair in how you do it. I had a guy steal my inboard tanks (2 of them) with 12 ft hoses but was nice enough to leave me a old beat up tank with 3 ft of hose so that I could keep fishing.
