v.2 Gewehr 1898 long eye relief scope mt.

This was the first attempt at a long eye relief scope mount for the Gewehr 1898 German infantry rifle. It was very strong and rigid but I wasn't happy with the height. To be really viable a LER scope needs to be low as you can get it. This old rifle shot so good with this first attempt I was determined to make a mount that did justice to the rifle.

I hope to get to the range tomorrow to test out a bunch of j- and cast loads in several rifles, this one included.

4x32 NcStar. That was the only one loose I could put on and see how it sat. I hope tomorrow to put one of the 2-7x32 scopes on it. I have 3 of them but I'm shooting all of them tomorrow.
