Anyone else shooting the Texas State Match at Haltom City on Saturday?

First I've heard of this - how'd it go?

The matches were really well run. There were 45 in the pistol cartridge and 48 in the 22 match. They had lunch brought in for all the shooters, and the weather co-operated. They had the big bore match in Colidge today. I didn't shoot it.

I didn't shoot as well as I would have liked, but I notice there were a number of others that didn't either. I shot my 357 Marlin CB for the first time. My loads were a little hot for the resettable targets so I need to work something else up.

The State match will be the 3rd weekend in May next year.

Crabo--I don't know what they used for targets at your match but locally they use Hunter Pistol targets that are manually reset. I use .38 spl loads with a 158 RN running just under 1100 fps out of my rifle and the rams go over just fine hit anywhere. I use the same load in my K38 and there it has a MV of 900 fps and have no trouble with Rams with it.

I was shooting a 180 grain cast powered by 14.5 of 4227. It shoots 2" or below at 100. A little hotter than I wanted, but it shot good. It did thump the targets, particularly the chickens...
