Hi I have never cast a round ball, I am going to attempt doing so soon. My question I have a lyman ideal .562 rb mold. Can this size be patched for a .58 cal rifle or should I just get a .570 mold thanks Ron.

Idealy I would think for hunting, a .570 ball with 20 thousands patching would be better, it depends on what barrel you have. I load a .575 with 20 tho for target in my green river barrel. However a .530 ball loaded on a fiber wad covered with a over shot wad shoots better than I can hold in my 28ga (.54) Trade gun.
