We have received a few request to offer a notched shape ingot. We have made a prototype. It is a plate about 7"x 8.5" with 9 notches as seen in the picture. Each notch is about 2.4- 2.8 pounds each depending on the alloy. The thickness between each notch is about 1/8" so they are easier to break it you bend back and fourth or cut easier with a band saw or hand saw. Depending on the results this would replace are current 4-5 pound ingot brick.

Please vote if you would prefer this or not. You can click this link to go to the survey.

I think that they would fit in the pot alot easier. Being smaller they would melt faster and come up to temp quicker. So I voted yes.

3 section bars are handier than 9 section plates...

Ryan - sure will make shipping easier, easier storing and kind of like 'the casters pig lead strips' for the plumbers. Good idea:grin:

Yes I like it.
Cutting on the bandsaw sucks!

Those ongots look like any easy fix to me. They are probably easy to pour for you at the Foundry too. The regular segmented ingots are too large for many pots.
I ladle cast vwith a gas burner so it does nmatter much to me, but to other casters it may be a Godsend.

Nice size to handle & fit in a pot better, I'd vote Yes!
