Bought a C457-500 mold, cast some bullets with #2 alloy and they measured .455 -.457.5 with , and the gas check shanks were WAY to small, I was going to use them in a .458 Lott. Took some 150 grit valve lapping compound smeared some in the cavity and rotated a bullet back and forth a bunch of times on a drill, cleaned the mold and did the same thing with 220 grit, cleaned the mold again and cast a few, they are still out of round but the checks are tight and the mold is measuring .459 - .462, After a run thru the sizer at .459 I think they will be fine. By the way, the bullets fall from the mold now.
