ok lend me your ideas.

i have 200 gr barnes to shoot up

i plan on 180 golden sabers for a defense load..cause i like the technology, or 200 xtp's

i have the 160 hp group buy mould

and i have a bunch of 135's from the 40sw.....

do ya know that if one packs the right powder under a 135 in a 10 mm with a 4.5 in bbl...you are right at 1500 fps!!!
think if it works i may take some to a club ipsc match just for fun.......

no sense shooting lite loads as i have a 40 for that.

i have a friend that shoots power pistol behind win silver tip 175's , so i picked up a pound to try.

lets hear what you do or reccommend

Power Pistol is my go-to for the 610. I'm thinking 7.9g under Lyman's 401638 clocks at 1,200fps, is pleasant and will drive tacks. Second up is Accurate #7- I've CRS disease so I don't know the charge weight. For some reason the 610 does not like Blue Dot under the 401638.

I haven't seen anyone work loads with 296/H110 yet. Seems to me that 296 would be a good powder for the round. Too slow/hot? Dunno.

BTW, what powder are you working with the 135s? They won't shoot well for me- a variety of attempts with Power Pistol, #7, Blue Dot, Unique et al- I get more accuracy with a pitching wedge.......

I'm mostly using Accurate Arms #7 in my Delta Elite. AA #7 is nothing extra special in it, but does fine. I don't really use it for much else, so it's a good place to burn it up.

I like 800X in the 10mm quite a bit, and might use it more if I didn't want to burn up the #7.

Titegroup did really well in a moderate load I tried, although I have not used it much. I need to test it some more.

I have used W231 for a mild load of 982 fps with a 200 grain cast.

SR7625 wasn't bad. Uninversal Clays wasn't either.

I need to try Power Pistol. I really like that powder, so don't know why I haven't tried to get something worked up there.

I haven't used any in it, but I think I've heard you can't get enough W296/H110 in the case to get the velocity (too slow).

I've been using an H&G 315 mould, which is a 200 grain TC that runs 209 grains for me from WWs. It has two small lube grooves, but I have probably lubed most with LLA.
The problem is that it's so long and seats so deep that it bulges some cases at the bullet's base so maybe a handful out of each hundred rounds won't chamber.

So I tried an RCBS 40-180 CM I got for my new/old Colt New Service 38 WCF recently. I haven't shot that many yet, but so far it has been just enough shorter that it doesn't bulge the cases too much. It isn't much shorter, but enough.
I think I might like that bullet in the 10mm. It has a really wide meplat. I bet it would be neat HP'd.

.

+1.
I liked 800x the best in my 10mm loads for my Glock G20 (180 & 200 grain bullets). The only problem I had was getting my Dillon to throw a consistant charge. I settled on WW231. I didn't keep the G20 long enough to experiment with other powders.

WERE YOU USING A PLATED BULLET OR A JACKETED ?

the berry's 135 are too thin for high velocity.

Groo here
I found AA-7 and AA-9 work well.
AA-7 for lighter bullets AA-9 for heaver ones..
You should get about 1150 to 1200 from a 200 gr FMJ [hp will be slower/longer]
Cast will be faster [if glock, change the barrel, they don't like most lead ones aka
K-Boom]
My fave is a fmj 150/155 gr for paper punching , 180 to 200 fmj for general
[out back] and I am looking at the 165 Golden saber...

I used AA #7 exclusively in my S&W 610 with 180gr XTPs. My 40 S&W Springfield Armory P9 with Barsto barrel got AA #5 under Lyman 40143s for 1000fps when I was shooting IPSC.

Yep, plated.....Berry's. That's new to me- I'll try dialing it down.

Thanks,

What Groo said, as far as jacketed bullets are concerned. With castings, I've used AA-7, AA-9, some WC-820 that dupes AA-9 behavior, Blue Dot, and 2400. I think AA-7 is best overall, and it gets the nod in my deer-hunting loads with the RCBS cast 200 grain TC/soft-pointed.

i bought 100 1x cases and salvaged about 65 of them as good.

loaded the 180 golden sabers with power pistol .
8.9/8.8 /8.7 trying for 1200 plus but just below max pressure.

the 200 barnes i did with aa9.

10.8/11/11.2 trying for around 1100 fps

gun is in my hands,,,,and i'd say much better quality than the earlier cz75 copies. this is a 75 on steroids....nice over all finish.

now if it would quit snowing!

I've been using 800-X and AA#9 with close to full house loads. Astonishing muzzle energy with 800-X.

Another forum member here referred me to the 10mm reloading section, on GlockTalk forum under Gun-Related Clubs.

Those loads were at the upper limit of things, and I tried working my way up, and I can say that one must be careful with those.

I have a Kimber Stainless Target in 10, and a Glock M20. I've used Power pistol, Blue dot, Longshot, AA9, in various loads. Both my pistols are easy to please, and shoot most anything pretty well. I shoot cast, 180gr. Gold Dot, 180gr. and 200 gr. XTP mostly.:cbpour:

OK SHOT TODAY....

the 180 gs were almost spot on for the quickload data.
i got 1178/1194/1205//

the barnes with aa9 went way slow.....
was looking for 1100 fps
got 983/1003/1014

gotta pump those up......tho 1000 fps with a 200 aint shabby...

gun shot left about 3 inches.....will crank on the sights once i have a load down.

ladies and gentlemen,

one of my clubs held its weekly ipsc style match today.
i was able to get some ammo loaded and get the sites cranked to the middle at lunch and then head out to the match.
opppps its the third wednesday and that is pistol shotgun...i forgot my shotgun...have to shoot it all with a handgun.

at the end of the match i was able to place three one gallon milk jugs side to side in a row, all filled with water and capped. earlier i shot a single jug wiht one of the rem 180 golden sabers. it was as impressive as the shotgun guys with slugs. so from about 12yards i let one go. the load is just over 1200fps. thru two jugs( well destroyed two) and into the third. the slug stopped in the third. the core and the jacket were recovered. the jacket is thin, peelled open and pack, but did seperate fron the core. the core...this is impressive! nearly double in dia ! alnost flat. a friend at eh match is an firearms instructor and asked to keep them for his class, so i do not have exact numbers. lots of weight retention and a big flat chunk of lead........16" plus of h2o penetration.
