I thought my 700 grain mold was heavy enough, but I found this mold on eBay for a bargin price.

At 7 bullets to the pound, it sure empties the melting pot quickly.

Sound like the .600 Nitro Express. It's too heavy for a 20 ga, except perhaps with BP or Pyrodex. It might be fun to play around in a 12 ga with a suitbale wad, if one could be found. Most of the heavy wall wads are tapered, and won't give goo accuracy. Perhpad the tPS wads in 3" from BPI might work.

I think the mold was for a 600 NE as well.

The twist of the 20 ga Encore slug barrel should be fast enough to stabilize the bullet. If not, I could machine the top of the mold to the next band to lighten it up.

I've been using 3" Fiocchi straight wall cases with a plastic gas cup in my other loads, and there should be enough space to do the same with this bullet as long as my shoulder can take the recoil.

Neat idea I hope it works for you as I plan on doing a similar thing only shooting 28ga barrels inside of a 10ga SXS......a poor mans double rifle. The barrels are either going to be machined down 54 cal. or chromoly smoothies with the last 3 inches turned like the old paradox guns. I will most likely use brass shells....

Rocky Mtn Cartridge can make brass cases to fit your Encore, and with those and that bullet you can beat 600NE ballistics by a good margin. Hang on!
