I need to get myself a new 9mm mold. I am presently using the Lee TL356-124-2R but it's not super accurate, and I want to get away from tumble lubing. I will be sizing them at .3565 for use in both my Browning High Power, and my Glock 17. I am mostly concerned with accuracy. I prefer a round nose to avoid feeding issues, but I will probably go with whatever is most accurate, and affordable. Can anyone suggest a good mold for me?

I use the Lee 358-125-RF in my Hipower sized to .358. This bullet doesn't look like the pictures, mine has no bevel base and a longer nose. It's meant to be sized and lubed in the traditional way, it's not a tumble lube design.

What is the basis for you selection of "sizing to .3565" ? I will bet that you will get much
better results with .357 or .358 diameter. Slug the barrel and size about .001 or .002
LARGER than groove diam for best accy and minimal to zero leading.

Get the conventional lube groove version of the Lee Truncated Cone boolit. Lee 124 TC
sized to .357 or .358 works extremely well with no leading in multiple 9mms for me and
in other people's guns, too.

If you want to stay with a RNL design get the Lee 125-2R mold. This is a standard lube grove design that I have used for years and it shoots nice in all my 9mm!

Having said that the Lee 125 RF is going to be my next 9mm mold. It looks like I can drive it as fast as the RNL but should have a little better energy transfer because of the flat tip.

The decision was a bit of a compromise. My Glock has a Lone Wolf Barrel that slugs at .355 and my High Power slugs at .356. I already have a sizing die for .3565 for my Saeco sizer. ;)

My CZ likes the LY 356402 and the RN 358242 124 gr.

Cricco,

Seems reasonable, but it is not. You want .001 or .002 larger than groove diameter,
not groove diameter. I'd start with .357 with those guns and be ready to try .358 if it
will chamber. 9mms are notorious for shooting boolits sideways if not well oversized, and
leading like a maniac in the process. Once you are large enough, no leading and good
accy are normal, altho the TL designs are often problematic.

Go ahead and try a few (no more than ten) at .3565 and see if you are lucky. If not,
polish it out about .0005, which will not take too much time. If that doesn't give you good
accy, then either buy a .358 die or polish out another .001.

The 124 TC conventional is highly recommended.

+1

I use it for both .357 and 9mm. I love the bullet shape!

Yes yes yes! Great boolit, shoots very accurately in my CZ. It cured my tumbling issues. Make note though, mine drops at .362 so you may want to get a 358 sizing die.

My boolit of choice for 9mm is the Lee 358-105-LSWC, sized to 0.356". It's a traditional lube boolit and works really well in at least the Ruger SR9. And yep, it also works beautifully in .38 Spl, as you'd expect. Boolits drop (from my mould) at 0.3575" to 0.3585".
