I've been using 8mm Lebel brass from Graf in my Vetterli.
The brass is really thin and even with my light load, I have splits.
I got some 348 Win brass from a friend.
They are much thicker.
The rim on the 348 is just a little smaller than the 8mm Label.
Sometimes the extractor will not pull the 348 shell out all the way.
Worn extractor???
Works great with the Lebel brass.
I'm thinking of building up the claw so it can get a better hold of the rim.
I would like to get another extractor to experiment on. Anyone have an extra????
Has anyone else noticed this problem?????

the rim diameter and thicknes are smaller than original vetterli brass. the secret to ejecting the brass is to pull the bolt back smartly. the brass will be kicked out by the lifter then. this is a trait on all vetterlis using non vetterli brass.

For bench shooting I like it that way, Take out the floor plate and carrier, Put a box under the rifle and the emptys fall into it, Twotoes right, run it back fast and will eject out, Maybe the the extractor could be bend down some or the cross pin been made smaller that it rest on, or something be place in the rear of the barrel where the extractor fit into that rides on the rim. be carefull, you mess it up, ist yours to live with as parts are hard to find, Joe
