That sure is pretty........how's the recoil at top end?

If I had to cast one vote for the "MOST CAST FRIENDLY CALIBER" I think the 35 rem would be my No.1 pick. It is tough to find a somewhat sane load that does not shoot well in the 35 remmies I have played with.

I have a 1950's pre-micro 336 SC that I drive at xtreme upper end with the RCBS 35-200 and the BRP 360-220. It is merely a matter of dropping in a big charge of H335, W748, or BLC2 then seating a cast 50/50WD'ed boolit and then pulling the trigger..........this gun is like a fine old dog as it just wants to please it's master. Now if I could just find a way to remove the deer repellent this particular rifle seems to have ingested.:x

Looks like a sweet rig. I have an old 1949 edition 336 but I'm not bobin' the barrel as it shoots good as is.

I'm wondering why Marlin don't make a run of Marauders with cut rifling. Think they'd sell.

Have a friend in VT that carries a cut down .35 on his maple sugar lines in black bear country. Says it does a fine job on red squirrels as well with the cast I ship him./beagle

Thats a really pretty rifle. I carry a newer 336 in 35 Remy for when I am on my land over in W.V. because of the bears that I found signs of. For read squirrels, wouldn't kind of blow them to pieces?

I like the Ranch Dog 35 caliber cast bullets. I have a 2C mold and just ordered the 6C mold.

Great looking rifle. Where did you get the cheek pad?

Thanx for the compliments, this rifle is a lot of fun to shoot.I have got a light bruise on my shoulder from shooting it so much.I am using 26 grains of RE-7 for a low recoil load and 30 grains Vitt-133 for a hunting load,it did a number on the buck I got last year with it.It went about at 1780 fps before I had the barrel cut and target crowned. It shoots under an inch at 65 yards,I don't shoot much past that since most of my handgun shooting is at that distance and I'm too lazy to move stuff around.I'm going to try some faster loads with some heat treated boolits someday,It shoots the rem 200's real well with 39 grains 2520.I think I got the cheek pad from cabelas,it was a long time ago.It works well.
