Hello, I had Fred Leeth make up a 55gr. g.c. nose-pour mould for my .22 Hornet. This rifle just loves it. But my Ruger No. 1 in .222 Rem. doesn,t. I tried the Saeco and Eagan MX, both shot ok but I felt it could do better. For some time I had been concerened about the squareness of gas-check to bullet shank. I had Corbin Mfg. make up reloading-press type swage die, .226 dia. with various shaped nose punches. After lubing, both Saeco & Eagan bullets were swaged. The Eagan was given a round nose & was slightly shorter...looked alot like Eley .22 Match bullet. The round nosed Saeco now had flat nose. Gas-checks were FLAT and square. Now the Ruger shoots 7/16" at 100yds. For the Hornet, I just squeeze the bullets enough to insure a flat and square base. Alot of extra work, but seems to be worth it.:swagemine:
