The most I ave ever paid is $25.00 for a 5 gallon pail. That is about 125 lbs. offer .15- .20 cents a lb.

That,s my plan :-D I live by two small towns & there is a hardware store in
one that also sells tires.I was feeling them out the other day & they are
mighty tight.

Don't get me wrong there good people, but when you melt down your own
wheel weights in to fishing weights your tight.

But the mom told me they were getting out of the fishing stuff.I ask the son
& he told me they sell them back to the dealer they buy them from [smilie=1:

Well I buy enough stuff they don't want to lose a customer, so I need to be
cool & figure a way to let them know I will trade some where else if they
can't help me out a little, but still be nice about it.I really do like them &
don't want to do that so, I must come up with a way to put some guilt on
them to at least cut me a deal.

The tire stores around me are getting savvy to us casters. Both nearby charge at least .45/lb as I'm "not the only one buying wheelweights". The scrap yard charges .60/lb.

local scrap yard went from .40 to .80/lb in two weeks. I would go $35 for a bucket

Metal salvage yard here in Orem, Utah sells for .65/lb. and the price keeps going up. Six months ago it could be bought from same source for .35 cents per lb. During the the same time period, brass ( cartridge cases or otherwise ) has risen from $.68 to $1.50 per lb. I still get my WW from one local tire store for 1 dozen donuts. I visit them once a month and pick up from 1/2 to 1-1/2 buckets at a cost of about $8.00.

Fly try bringing a cold sixpack of beer at the end of the day for WW`S. My Scrap yards around here charge 40-50 cents a poulnd. I would stick with tring to get WW`S. Try the small independent tire shops, dealerships, small service stations that sell tires. These will produce lead eventually. I had to go back a few times to a couple shops before they would let me have some.
