So when shooting 45acp pistols at 15 yards, will they group better if the boolits are sorted by weight then loaded and shot, again by weight group?

If so, is sorting by 2 grains or 1 grain enough? What would you recommend?

I've been using mixed brass, does that impact the groups at all? Should they be sorted by headstamp, and maybe even by weight??

I'm just trying out things and this is is just a little time and no cost. Shooting tight groups is fun, even for pistols at close range.

Your throughts and input is apreciated.

At 15 yards you won't see a noticable difference. Just pick the bullets that look good.

Yep, like Moorman says!

Thanks guys. Glad no one thought the brass was a big deal as it's cheaper to buy once-fired in bulk when needed.

I'll try sorting out the "obvious" boolits that aren't filled nicely, or have some other visible issue and go from there!

If I was shooting NRA Bullseye pistol or some other target discipline for big money, I'd sort bullets for my 50-yard ammo for sure. I'd have to shoot a bunch of 10-shot machine rest groups to determine if it was worth the time and effort for 25 yards. For anything closer than that - I don't think so.

Sort boolits by sight, cases by headstamp. (There's enough variation in brass that crimps & internal volume do indeed vary significantly by brand.)

Thanks for the advice, I want to get the most out of my shooting but don't want to waste my time either.
