Lorenzoli Flintlock Repeater

Good morning
Years ago I visited the Gun and Gold Museum in Lima Peru. On display are hundreds of Presedential Presentation firearms. Included was a Lorenzoni Flinter. This is the only one I have ever seen.
FYI on Gunbroker there is one for sale. I have no conections but thought you might like to see another example of ingeneous craftsmanship from from about 300 years ago.
The Title is spelled wrong (UGH) LORENZONI is correct.

That gun sounds very ingenious indeed! I tried to find it on Gunbroker.com but could not. I guess I will try doing a general google search, as you have my curiosity up.

First I heard of these was back in the 60's. Hundreds were found un unused condition in an old armory.
The design is ingenious but not fool proof and fear of the powder storage flask in the buttstock detonating caused the guns to be withdrawn from service almost as soon as they were delivered.
These when found at all are usually in excellent condition or blown to smittereens.

Very odd for sure but hey, man has been tryng to invent a better mouse trap for a long time. Those "actions" always reminded me of a coffee grinder :) I know next to nothing of the rarity of that gun but the price seems a bit steep. The market of interest would surely be small and within the novelty collector category.

I took a look at this rifle on GB. Very nice and very interesting. I did not know it had a powder magazine in the buttstock that could detonate. That would sure ruin your whole day!
