a mistake as I got a 309-200 mould sprayed it with KROL and cleaned , then heated and walla boolits drop out by just opening and measure .3105, seems to be better quality than the last LEE mould I received, hope this is a sign of future things.

Must be a new guy on the equipment!

No Worries, they'll have him trained "right" in a few months.

OK you 2 help!
I have apparently missed something here.
This is the second time I have seen something about putting kroil in a mold.
Please explain to an old dense caster.

I guess old dummies like me can still learn something every day.
Will give it a try as I have a 309 that always gives me trouble.
Thanks for the info and help.

I'm gonna have to say I'm with Freightman. I received my first and only mold Thursday night. It's a Lee 6 ho;e 452-228-1R The typical groove .45 ball ammo shape. I did the typical spray it down with brake cleaner and wipe it out really good. Preheated it on a Walgreens hotplate while melting wheel weight lead. Smoked it lightly
Having the typical issues while getting it up to heat, of incomplete fills. Once up to temp 5 of the 6 dropped with nothing more than a light shake. Will have to experiment a bit with the reluctant one. My initial experience has to be called extremely positive. Random measurements from different spots of the pile gave me a range of .452 x .4525, .4515 x .452, .4525 x .4535 and one of .454 x 4525. All have sharp bases.
My biggest issue is that I'm ladle pouring so I get odd results. One pour I'll get all 6 perfect, next one gets 4, after that maybe two and then back to all 6. So I'm trying to work out some issues.
But my setup was inspired by Bubba during the heights of a 96 hour bender. Trash salvaged grill with side burner, goodwill 2q stainless pot and soup ladle with a 75 degree bend in the handle.

I recently got one of Ranch Dogs Lee 6 cavity molds. Casts to size, boolits fall out. No lapping, deburring, nothing. Very nice mold. Oh, and they filled the group buy order in short time.

I wait till the mold is hot, squirt some, wipe some with a Q tip inside. Make sure its all coated, heat it up again to temp. Start casting, might take 5-6 before they come out no wrinkles. Then they just fall out unless you have burrs or something inside to make em stick. I did it to my lymans, lees and both work better.
Just got a lee .401 , 6cav and started casting with out cleaning or nothing, they just drop out with a shake. Wish the 2 cavs were that good!
When im finished casting I squirt some kroil on the mold before it cools and the heat drys it up some, so next session its ready to go.

Does Ranch Dog open up molds ie. enlarge a cavity 3 or 4 thousands? Like beagling.
