Kelley Roos has a used Pedersoli 45/70 that he is willing to sell.
It's the 'Silhouette' model with a shotgun butt and pistol grip.

He says he'll take offers...

I love mine, I'm since added a tang sight as these old eye's have a hard time with the sights that came with the rifle. Very well built quanity rifle.

Charlie I have not heard from you on how your buddy is doing with the "Boss" rifle you guys bought from me. I always like to hear good stories. I did find a really nice Low Wall in 45 Colt that I told you I was going to buy with the money from the Sharp's. I have not shot any black powder in the Low Wall yet, but that is my next iron in the fire. Tom.

Not much to report, Tom.
He really liked the rifle when he got it. I loaded fifteen rounds with PGT bullets in matched-by-weight cases for him to try. He said the group was about three inches.
I took his gun home and inspected the bore for leading...there was none...and checked the sights with an optical boresighter. All of that looked fine.
I loaded fifteen more (cuz his tools were still trickling in) and asked him to save the target so I could 'analyse' it.
I was loading 65 grains of Cartridge, but had no idea what the gun really wanted.

That was last fall, and I don't think he has fired that second batch of loads, yet.
He's in the roofing business...and gone a lot...so I don't see him often.

Head0001,

You will like BP loads in the low wall. I have a Uberti with a 30" barrel and the load shown on the target is really good for my rifle.

I'm thinking paper patch experiments for it next.

SharpsShooter,

I have a question for you: Does fouling get into the block when you shoot a 45 Colt in your rifle? In short, is the 45 Colt long enough to seal against the chamber walls and keep the fouling forward, as does the 45-70?

The Remington and Starline brass show fouling about halfway down the case, but the Winchester seals tight. I had noticed that and planned to try just Winchester in the next batch of loads for it. What really surprised me was the ability to shoot 20 shots without cleaning or blow tubing in a 30" barrel. The only reason I stopped to clean was chamber fouling that prevented loading the next round.
