I was just wondering if a person wanted to have their Marlin 357 rebarreled to a 256 win mag who would be a good gunsmith to do the job?

I've considered that conversion. I've successfully used Dennis Olson in Plains, Montanna on several lever projects and he has done well on them.

I'd go for a 1-10 or 1-12 twist on a conversion like that./beagle

I haven't gone smaller in diameter on a lever gun, but I did have a new Marlin 336W rebored to .375 Winchester by JES in Cottage Grove, OR. Outstanding service and nice guys, along with a reasonable price.
